The European Facility Management Conference has come of age. The 5th edition in this joint-venture format between host institutions EuroFM and IFMA will take place in the city of Manchester and will most certainly establish a new landmark in the FM profession.
EFMC 2008 expects more than 600 delegates from all over the world in the single mostrelevant facility management event in Europe.
EFMC 2008 in Manchester will be supported by more than 28 FM Professional Associations and 34 universities and research institutions in Europe. In the UK, we are honoured to count, amongst our institutional supporters, with highly recognised institutions such as BIFM, RICS and University of Salford who are actively involved in the project. Other international associations such as BOMA will be participating at EFMC for the first time.

Business Conference
Using keynote speakers, plenary and parallel sessions – the professional conference will focus on the subjects that represent the current business needs within FM: highlighting best practice, relevant case studies and lessons learnt. FM professionals from Europe and abroad will be available to highlight and discuss many important themes which have a bearing on FM today and for the future. The themes will range from core FM business activities to the profession thinking globally and more strategically – with many facets to the role of the FM topics relating to business continuity, life cycle management, commercial thinking and planning for the future will all be addressed. The professional conference will also include current thoughts on one of the most relevant current themes, sustainability and energy management. There will, of course, be many other topics discussed and insights shared throughout the conference covering many broader interests from within the FM profession.
Research Symposium
The 7th Annual EuroFM Research Symposium provides an opportunity for the presentation, discussion and critical review of research carried out in member organisations. The Symposium seeks to share findings with a mixed audience of FM practitioners and educators in line with EuroFM's overall objectives. The programme consists out of:
